Mike's Sub Install Detailed Pictures

So i was so caught up in installing the sub that i forgot to take step by step pics.. so here they are... easiest and hardest part was deciding where to run the cables from... Power has to go from battery to the rear and so does remote and rca cables.

I decided to run the Power from Driver side to the back and remote/rca from the passenger side.

Here is the Battery Terminal crimped end connection:



Then we twist tied it and ran it behind a plastic-y thing so the cable wont touch the engine.



Another twist tie where the fuse is since it is heavy-ish so don't want the fuse assembly touching the engine either.





You can see the old installer who did security system installed used this gromet since our 8 guage cable was too heavy we left the gromit open and fished the yellow goodness through it.



You can see where it comes in from the inside. Note the brake pedal assembly... ran the power cable behind it so it wont get pinched and fry up everything in the car.





The plastic panels were a joy to pop off in this car as they were easy as hell, you can see the power getting channeled through the aisle/door plastic cover doohicky. Note we slid the power behind the oem bundle of cables



Here you can see fishing through the A pillar trim on the inside.

Fished through the truck area plastic covering.



Will come back to the power.. now here is in the same fashion Remote (Blue) and Rca (brown) cables going to the rear from passenger side in the same fashion.

They come behind the glove box and come down and follow the door channels the same way.










Now back to the power this is how its being fished from the plastic underneath the carpet and through the floor hooks above the carpet.





RCA and Remote cables fished through the other side in the same fashion and brought up above the carpet through the same hole.



Ground cable grounded right into the cars body with the OEM hook bolts.

WHO ELSE WANTS A SUB IN THEIR SHIT BOX. Or an alpine for that matter.

Alpine 9887 Install

So a friend of mine decided to upgrade his speakers and put in some shitty kenwood hu and shitty kenwood speakers and massive tonal difference and NO SUB.

It sounded like something a deaf person would get done to their car.

In any case i forced upon him a Alpine 9887... very nice... and a used basslink sub.

The install was perfect and it was done to its completion mostly because i did it.

I also found one of the tweeters was out of phase so i ripped the tweeter out and fixed it.. here are some pics.

Partially Installed.

So bennitto had the HU partially installed... he said no bass. So i Xover the HU and re-tuned the SUB so the bass is sweet... jeez i wish i had that kinda bass... bah.

Also note when the thieves stole his previous stereo they stole the standalone LCD screen and now its empty there... he would have put the OEM pocket but its been trashed.

Oh well.

Day 6-8 - 2009 02 26-28

So this stupid son of a bitch called my bluff and did not solder the harness till about 7.30 which was off time, i mean it worked in my favour as i was not 100% prepared to let him eat my ass with whatever sauce he wanted (yes he asked)... but he did put extra effort and did it after work.. i was shocked...

Later confirmation that it worked but still isn't installed.

Saturday came, and we were predicting a sound session in a parking lot of some grocery store but i did not hear from which worked out ok cuz its cold here.

So i hear that Bennitto had a sever headache. Below is an artists rendition of what it may have looked like to people around him:



He took 5 + advils to suppress it but i think it was a deep rooted fear of something happening or rather not happening e.g

So anyway after the advil thing the stereo is still not in but atleast the harness is in...

1 week for the harness to be done right.. i suppose it could be worse.



P.S I don't know how blogging happens i feel gayer by the minute as i type.

I have just received a disturbing communication from a gentle-(fill_in_the_blank) wondering why this HU hasn't been installed. To encourage our dear dear Bennitto he had requested I post this happy happy joy joy image... see below.

To Further add... there are steps being taken to get this shite going...

Day 6 - 2009 02 26

So instead of working and/or soldering the harness Bennitto spent good part of the day search for Yoda Porn and other items that may be offensive to women and/or degrading AKA reality.

Items in our e-searches included:

- Animated Yoda doing Animated Sheep
- Yoda performing cunnilingus on Queen Amadilio??!?!
- And an awesome piece of publication
- Some EMO queer... i think he is so queer its uber queer.

Not only that but i was blamed with the "hebrew comeback". Which entailed me taking him off-course and preventing him from work and soldering the goddamn alpine 9886 harness.

In any case the following is really an eye opener...

Day 3-5 - 2009 02 23-25

So far no solder and no protogay action for Alpine 9886. Alpine thinks it was better off up high stacked up at Poorbuy's shelf.

Bennitto has lots of excuses n shit...

- I have no light
- It is not comfortable
- I maybe gay.

etc etc.

Nothing solid for the Alpine Unit. Poor 9886.

I think i will have to solder this harness so it can be popped into the ricecake. I will have to pick it up from him Thursday so i can solder the harness for HIS enjoyment... borderline gay here.
